Well i can see a few of the names on the list are member who can usually make it to the leather bottle meet. So maybe there or somewhere local would be a good place for a meeting.

Will definately be good to have a mega meet and give a big thankyou to the founding members for all their hard work.

Good shout Ben.

Gazon69, can you make it to the Leather Bottle on the Surrey/Hampshire borders?

Fun Golf: 2016 mk7 R DSG 3 door. Work Golf: 2015 mk7 1.4 TSI GT ACT 5 door.

I'm not sure we would need to have a face-to-face meeting (nice as such meets are) in order to sort this out.

Has anyone costed out how much Brunters would be to hire for the day on a weekend/weekday?

Last time I looked into it the cost was deep into the £thousands. Then there's the health and safety aspect to consider if running a high speed circuit/quarter mile area, with St John's Ambulance, possibly insurance indemnity etc. There are pitfalls to being an event organiser, so ensure you organisers are covered.

This will be a Mega meet, but costs need to be considered early and catered for before the event in my experience. :happy2:

....This is exactly what I was suggesting would be the case when a trackday/hillclimb meet was being suggested earlier. I didn't know the score about Bruntingthorpe and assumed it might be different when DaveB suggested it.

I certainly want no part in any such health and safety and insurance responsibilities in helping to organise this meet. My intention is only to offer advice if I can. For personal financial reasons I am unable to contribute any money whatsoever wherever this event is organised.

Thanks for the heads-up, John!  :happy2:

:scared: Hmmmm i think john may have a point here. There are obviously going to be up front costs to cover but i for one centainly dont have 'thousands' to shell out. We may have to gave a re-think on thos one chaps. I did think about waiting until inters next year and put on a really good club stand, banners and all the trimmings. Would be way cheaper.

Iagree, maybe inters would be best. our clubstand is normally a bit pants so would b good to get a better stand going.

Guys

Let's just meet up somewhere centrally! Massive meet, find a pub with a massive car park. And then we have food, beer and cars.

What more could we want.

Problem solved  :happy2:

And for those of us who want  a track day, maybe we can discuss a club trip to nurburgring and spa?  :driver:

....Agreed!  :happy2: - That's what we did for the first big forum meet.

Using Inters wouldn't be special enough in my opinion.

Hmmm any other places?!

If there's like 100 of us, we might be able to get cheap rates?!

I'm definitely keen for this  :driver:
