GTI Economy
« on: September 09, 2012, 05:18:35 pm »
Just got my car back on the road with a new (second hand) engine and I now have a BWA egine which replaced the AXX engine

I would have thought that the economy of the BWA would have been better than the AXX, but I seem to be getting less MPG now

Any thoughts on this ................ :popcornsoda:

Sorry I can't help you, but my BWA is fantastic on fuel - 40+mpg on a motorway run.

I did read somewhere that the AXX is last of the true "lean burn" engines and that VW cost cutting meant the BWA (for whatever reason) isn't as good on fuel as it's predecessor.  :surprised:

There shoudnt be any difference at all really tbh, I would have though all engines with the K03 would return the same mg as opposed to k04

With the BWA engine being a later model I thought it would be more advanced, and cleaner on emissions !
