Brake disc guards.
« on: September 11, 2012, 12:34:27 pm »
Will hopefully be fitting my new brake kit this weekend but the original guards dont fit. What are my options for new guards? My oem ones went along with my s3 setup. Are there any off the shelf or do i buy oem and cut??

Thanks, Stevie.

Take them off and run the TTRS brake deflectors that fit to the wishbones.

Shields will just cause the drilled discs to clog faster.

.
I don't run brake disc guards on either front or rear brakes (AP Racing fronts and S3 rears) and have had no problems so far after many tens of thousands of miles.

The reason is merely that I don't have guards which fit my Mk5 GTI.

However, I presume that VW fit such guards for a reason.

Give'em a kick. Nobody runs dust shields on a BBK.

....My car has never failed a MOT and has no disc guards front or rear.
