Am I missing something here. Are you saying that letter is from the police. There is no way the police are going to send letters out like that. That just looks like Internet twaddle to me.

Reminds me of a time I was in America driving through Boston thought a dark rural road, with say half a mile between the houses.

We were driving along around 7 of us in a people carrier, looking at the houses as we went past (as they were all grand)

We passed this one house with a big sweeping open drive way, on the driveway was a body faced down covered in blood. We drove past and by the time we all realised what we'd sore, we had passed the house. We decided to turn around and drive back for what ever reason.

When we drove back (literally 45 seconds later) the body was gone. We got infront of the house and slowed right down and couldn't see anyone, we then saw a car come speeding out the dark area at the rear of the drive with no lights on trying to ram us.

Luckily we were going a sufficient speed to move off quickly by the time the car had come off the drive and tried to turn out onto our road we'd already shot off.

sh*t me right up

Agreed looks fake. For one it's an E-Mail and they wouldn't include a letter head like that from the Met.

Also the way they write is typically HOAX style, just not formatted right.

I am more scared of the people who make this sh*t up, and then take the time to spread it about, what is the point.  :chicken:
If there was somebody raping and leaving woman for dead using this ploy it would be national news.

to be fair TC  whether its fake or not , (i dont believe the stuff about gang rape, but as a simple ploy to nick your car its not unheard of)

id rather my mum and sister were given this info,

and as cars get harder to steal and people secure their houses better
things like this could become more common.

Hey nobody mentioned gang rape, only standard rape... Anything you want to fess up about haha.  I agree with TC although making people aware of scams is never a bad thing I do smell drama lama here.  I'm awaiting the story about the woman driving away, being flagged down by an onlooker and discovering a kitchen knife on the back seat to pop up.

I did see a CCTV vid on YouTube where tin cans tied to a rear bumper caused a woman to stop, check and get car jacked.  Doh!

These are the new chain mail - a load of sh*te made up by people with too much time on their hands who derive pleasure form scaring people.
Sideways yo!

Lol. This email did the rounds at work. Some skank that works for a contracting company for our firm made someone with distribution list permissions send it to all company employees. Idiots!!!!!

I can't believe people still get taken in by this stuff. Some gullible people out there. I recommend http://www.snopes.com

I fail to take anyone that types in block capitals seriously.
