Im looking at getting some new decent speakers all round, what have other people gone with? what sizes are needed? People running them from an amp or just from the HU,

i usually go with alpine type R's, what else can people recomend? oh and i dont want to blow the pay check for the month  :signLOL:

I have Hertz "hi energy speakers in mine, the fronts powered by an Audison amp.

Very good sound quality. Not sure how much you want to spend though Joe?

the standard size front ones are 16.5cm i think-hertz pioneer are good all depends what music you p;ay,best to amp them up...

im my golf i ran hertz energy same as above.. iirc they cost around £250 for a set  :happy2:
they were good but i ran them off a underpowered phoenix gold amp

right cheers guys, im going to go and see my audio guy tonight, he said he would stay open till 5.30 so i can get through after work (now thats good service  :happy2:)

maxitol, i didnt catch you either, i saw dubway and tony, which car was yours? was it the red one parked next to mine?  :smiley:

No your not, me too  :happy2:

Not into the 'Bass'. Its more about clarity for me and I think the standard speakers do a reasonably good job and cant justify the hassle and money to upgrade.

Plus its rare that im on my own in the car and play the music as loud as possible.

Good luck with removing the standard speakers though.

Its not 10 speakers as standard iirc

They are quite good though, do miss my install in the civic though. Had awesome speakers in that  :sad:

the standard speakers in mine(8 of them) where ok but they couldn't handle the bass i was putting through them so i had to change them
