legit, or just too cheap?

Hi guys, sorry if this should be in the cosmetic section, but it gets so many more lok here off guys who visit that area of the forum as well.
Do any of the guys here who have/ or who know about hte carbon fibre grilles rate this one

can you see any problems with it, or this one:

The seller of the first one says it fits over the original one, and that it can be kept on with adhesive,
Now personally I don't like the idea of a £150 piece being stuck on to the front of my car,
is this a cheap copy of one, and also can you point me towards a good one to make my car look that bit classier.

The OSIR ones that the TT shop sell and a few of us have here are indeed supposed to be bonded on.

Once fitted properly it won't come off and will look like it is part of the grille!

You probably just cost yourself an extra few quid posting that up on here.  

If it is genuine like it seems, then they are as good as you will get, and using adhesive with it will be fine.

Agreed, although I had trouble with the fitment of mine you have some come back from a reputable well known supplier!

haha, no mate, the seller just accepted my offer of £110 for it, I saw some go on shops for about £200 before now, so snapped this one up and then had doubts after I put my offer in,
Now for some questions on how you guys bond it to the bodywork?
Do I need to take the number plate and plynth off for this? and drill holes for it.

I'd be very suspicious of that Glasgow seller - He's used pics lifted from OSIR and not of the actual item for sale.

The second seller doesn't appear much better in that respect either.

But I'm suspicious of most things on eBay - Far too many scams and false descriptions.

Wise words there Robin...I nearly got scammed into some "Genuine" Monza II's, only to be saved at the last minute by a forum member who was bitten previously!

Dude wanted me to complete the "best offer" commitment I made, I reminded him of ebays policy on fake goods, then after a couple of flame mails he stopped hassling me.

I have been using e bay for 7 years now, and for 5 of them I have been a seller/trader, and the quality of goods and the false descriptions is abysmal as of late, and now that you can't leave bad feedback for buyers your over a barrel/
Im not too worried abou thte stock pics, thats what I use all the time as it makes the product look so much better!
Will update once I have it, and then show it all gaffa taped on.

....I can understand that but unfortunately it immediately arouses my distrust and possibly some other people's too.

I think it's alright to show a 'stock' pic as long as you state it is and additionally show your own possibly crappy pic

ive just orederd the cheaper version from hong kong via the states... how did you find that guy from nottingham. i didnt get him come up... i really am crap at ebay!
and if i dont like the look of it , i,ll get it wrapped!

very nice looking, will try and sort it the weekend,
Can someone (if theres not one already) give me a run through on the best things, and techniques to stick it to the front please?

....I wouldn't bother putting the mounting plynth back on and also don't drill it. Quite a few of the guys on here are using magnets or similar. If that isn't secure enough for you, consider this method : -

If you do use my method, don't bother with the vertical sticky pads. I ought to update my How-To but the sun is out and I've got a Mk6 GTI to drive!
