Detail My Ride - Jazz Blue Pearl Lupo Sport TDi
« on: September 26, 2012, 11:46:44 pm »
Hi Guys!

Unfortunately we have had a manic few weeks and haven't had a huge amount of time on our hands to take pics, or do any full write ups, however going to do my best to post up a few more soon!

A previous client contacted us after purchasing this VW Lupo 1.4TDI finished in Jazz Blue, a gorgeous pearl colour. The car itself is rare being a Sport TDi model and as such has goodies like ABS and Air Con. So after the new owner had sorted a few things including some new wheels and coilovers it was time for the paintwork to be given some TLC.

How the car looked on arrival:

The car had already been previously washed thoroughly only a few days before by the owner, so only a quick wash and decontamination required. Still Iron X and Tardis revealed some contamination present on the paintwork.

A few shots of the car on arrival:

Paintwork definately in need of some attention!

Onto the wash/decontamination in the rain!

Iron X revealed a little bit of purple rain, nothing too major:

Swiftly moved inside and dried off with soft microfibre towels.

Further inspection of the paintwork:

Nice!

After a taking paint readings and finding nothing out of the ordinary, we proceeded to do various test combo's and eventually settled on 3M Perfect-It (Yellow) via Yellow 3M pad, at around 1500-1800rpm via Rotary, this finished down nicely and only needed light refinement. A few correction shots from around the car:

Nice improvement!

Following the correction process, we also carried out all the usual extras, sealed with wheels with Auto Finesse Mint Rims, glass, tyres, trim etc and also detailed the interior (including G-Techniq protection for the newly fitted carpet mats). LSP used was Auto Finesse Tough Coat for maximum durability heading into winter.

Fortunately, the sun even popped out for a few after shots, enjoy!

Thanks for looking guys!

Comments, questions etc welcome as usual!

Nathan & Gaz

Its a massive and marked improvement than when we got the car as the 50/50 shots demonstrate.  :happy2: And amazing results considering the guys only had from around 8:30am till 4pm to work on it.

I will be booking it back in again in the Spring i think for another bit of work and top up.

Cheers Mark, its the wifes car, she always wanted a Lupo. It is a hoot to drive though.

I dont have a car at present, but working on the T4 camper a lot. Hope to get something fun next year, but im in two minds. Save for a Mk7 GTI/Polo R or get a Mk1/2 track car and go all out on it.
