Pretty sure they are fake check here http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/378554-The-Definitive-BBS-CH-CO-RE-Reference-Thread

According to that link OEM BBS do not have "Motorsport" stamped on them anywhere.  The ones in question above do.

Yes they do!

its the OEM manufacture wheels that do not have motorsport.

The aftermarket CH all have motorsport on the face.

Aftermarket CH's have "motorsport" stamped into the metal around the center and other descriptors on the lip. They only come in Diamond Silver (also known as Bright Silver) or Black with Stainless Lip. All real non-OEM BBS wheels require BBS PFS hubcentric rings and conical lugs. The lower offset fitments have 5 small holes around the center bolt pattern, as Mercedes requires them for wheel alignment.

5x112 ET42 8x18

100% fake then as CH025 should be ET50.

Send him that link and then just say you will give him £300.. otherwise walk away... plenty more reps out there.

"BBS went bankrupt in 2007, this was one of a range of special edition finishes that the new owners of BBS did when they came back on to the market after six months of ceased production at the BBS factory.
The spigot rings are an interchangeable part and therefore removeable. My golf was running them with the correct spigot rings to suit. You can buy the correct spigot rings on ebay, to suit a different range of cars with 5x112 fitment.
They are genuine BBS wheels. "

They look bloody good for reps. Didn't realise they could look so good. Been planning on 19 CH's, really had not considered replicas. Could save a bundle, where can I buy reps from, anyone know. Not really interested in eBay though.

OP, they look really good, reps or not, buy them or I will for my winters.

Isn't there also a check you can do on the position of the "Motorsport" script? Im sure I remember reading that reps are stamped slightly different to genuine rims.
Yes, I agree they are a great looking rim thats why I nearly bought a set for my previous GTI. If you can get them cheap enough buy em! :happy2:

hmm.. not sure then. To me it doesnt look like there is a place for the spigot ring to be installed like on my CHs or in that picture. But BBS going bust is true (infact they have gone bust again since then) so perhaps these are genuine.

Yeah, cos I thought genuine bbs centrecaps are different sizes to replica centres so will not fit?

That is correct, might be worth just firing an email off to Phil @ PW Motorsport, he will be able to tell you instantly if they are genuine or not. :happy2:

Looking at this pic I would definately say the wheels are fake, look at the centre cap http://www.pwmotorsport.com/Catalogue.aspx?cId=14&pId=42#Catalog1

They are fake ch025 are only 5x112 et50

Don't take the center caps as them being genuine. I bought a set that turned out to be fake but had genuine center caps.

Genuine bbs ch s use an alloy spigot ring held in place with a circlip.

The alloy spigot rings are £50

You can get 18"reps brand new on eBay for £375 deliverd

I have some pics from rimstyle of the markings on genuine wheels I will post them up when I get home tonight

Some pics

If anyone is ever looking at ch's and you are near Aberdeen I can give you a shot of a BBS spigot ring to try on the wheels and also show you my genuine CH's to make it easier to spot any differences

I got stung with a fake set before and really wouldn't like it happening to anyone else
