So Revo blew your engine up.

you mean jonnys

Were they out logging it and it just blew up.  :chicken:

Theres a reason why it melted id imagine. Why didnt the inbuilt safety paramters kick in to safe the engine?

He has just explained above he is one of there not so under cover agents.

And let him carry on, Jonny used to do exactly the same to APR then ended up with them.
Poor POV might one day go back to Revo  and will be hounded everywhere he goes.

This is incorrect. AwesomeGTI arent the sole APR distributers, theres loads of agents in the UK now.

....And I have heard that APR insist on their distributors solely offering APR and none of the remaps by others. But, whether this is true or not, I'm not sure that this post will be still on topic or not.

All car forum discussions, not just here, on remaps seem to always degenerate into a tuner 'war'.  :sad1:

I think thats doubtful.

I find it amusing that anyone who criticises revo is labelled a basher. Should people not be informed about the pro's and cons? Suppose some like to hush any problems or issues under the carpet. Who that benefits, I dont know, its certainly not forum members.

.
I think that both APR and Revo are good enough and big enough to take care of themselves without our help.

Rightly or wrongly, they both offer very good products and are the market leaders and have a long history of rivalry.

I see your point about a reason, but you are just casting aspersions without fact or the full picture being divulged.

I could easily say APR have just recently blown up StevePs engine. Which they did.  along with a few others that were sitting in the APR graveyard. But without posting the full story it looks like APR were at fault. Even though SteveP new the engine wasnt strong enough to last.
My point is Smoke and mirrors Pov anyone can make any tuner look bad. You just make yourself look foolish.

Yes thats fair enough, but I was merely the devils advocate, as there where things beings said as fact, whilst being untrue.

I have heard from the horses mouth what happened. Ive also heard the story which the other party are using as damage control. I suspect the latter is the version you have heard

I dont care for tuner wars, Im happy with who im working with now, Im not concentrating on others etc.

However I do believe in transparency, and I resent being labelled a basher for criticing a company I used to deal with alot. Without our criticism how are companies meant to move order. The onus is on them to improve where they are weak. If they do that no one can point any fingers.

I wont even bring up the 5200rpm debacle which proves my point further

Sums it up for me. I have always wanted to meet Pov as I believe he is a top lad but I find it hard to read his posts now as its almost certain what they will contain.

I seriously doubt Revo will ever give him the time of day again if it came to it though

From my perspective if a company has something to sell they should come on here, tell us what it can do and then leave it up to us as individuals to make our own minds up. All this X is crap, Y is better rubbish just has he opposite effect on me and just makes me more determined not to use the product from Y.

They didnt anyway, once they have your money and you have a problem.

"its not our tune, its the car"

And I quote, re 5200rpm flat spot

Quote from: revo carl
This is NOT a software issue;

this will be related to the TSB VAG currently have out on the valve springs in K04 cars..... depending on how old the vehicle is and how restrictive your exhaust is will depend on if the issue is apparent on the vehicle, our K1 has no such issue, none of the cars i have setup have had this issue unless they are within the said VAG TSB.

sorry to be blunt but i want it to be clear for you all so you are all well informed!

And thats now proven to be a lie

Which tuner has mapped your car Dan.  :

I was orignally with Revo with Stage 1 and 2, then I had the APR turbo kit which meant I had APR software.

Please keep the bitching off here guys, I dont want an over zealous mod locking this useful thread!

Come on Pov, stop now before people stop believing a word you say.
Honestly you dont do APR any favours talking like this, even though you think you are. You, they, should just let the software do the talking.  :happy2:
