How come a flat bottomed wheel is optional?

Flat bottom steering wheels have always been standard on the 8P S3 in the UK. I can't imagine this will be any different.

Incorrect, the first 8P S3s came with the regular wheel as standard and the FBSW as an option, iirc it was 2008/9 model year where it became standard  :happy2:

Therefore it's reasonable to assume that Audi may well pull the same stunt again to milk more ££s out of the option list junkies...

Are you sure? I've never to date seen an S3 without it and for example I've never seen an S3 MFSW that wasn't flat bottom for sale on eBay either.

You learn something new every day.

Anyhow the FBMFSW is standard on the new S-Line anyway, so my money is still on it being standard equipment on the S3 too.

.
Is it really 296 bhp and not a misprint?  :surprised:

That seems a lot out of an ex-factory 2.0T FSI engine and also more powerful than the RS3, IIRC.

^^^^
Then 296 bhp will be very nice. However, even though the build quality will doubtless be good, I don't find myself at all excited by its body styling.

....I don't have a strong feeling either way but would prefer if they were black like mine and therefore were less obvious.

A Golf mule, rumoured to be a mk7 R, has been seen with quad exhausts too.

no they haven't , up until the face lift at 2008 they were an option, quite an expensive one at that

Bizarre how the Sportback has the same engine but only two exhaust pipes...
