Whilst I see your point, do you know what length of thread protrudes from the hub with the standard bolts+Monza combo?
Longer bolts on anything 5mm or greater... you should have min of 7 full turns into a hub I was told...
Issue with running 5mm spacers is that the wheel doesn't sit on the hub any more and this can cause wheel wobble. I would always advise running a 10mm hubcentric spacer and longer bolts to suit.

Just to bump this up, if using longer bolts what do folk do about a locking wheel nut?
