Just to bump this up, if using longer bolts what do folk do about a locking wheel nut?

Im pretty sure  I would use longer bolts for anything 5mm+. Just to be on the safe side and as above.. .Do you really want to see your wheel fall off? Let alone the damage that can cause!  :evilgrin:

Radius for oem, tapered for aftermarket usually...
