Congrats Mate. Some things have just got to be done you can always buy again when the little ones are more grown up. I was lucky enough to keep my cars when the little ones arrived as i bought us a sensible family car. Touran is a good option tho; they drive really well, have plenty of poke and still look fairly cool.

Yep...when my wee one came along we had to get a Renault Scenic! lol...terrible car, but the cubby holes and the flexibility were wonderful.....we used it not only to pack in loads of all that plastic crap and paraphenalia that babies bring with them, but also we move house using it (well apart from the BIG stuff).

Glad I am now past all that now... :drinking:  :jumpmove: :jumpmove:

.....I hope..... :jumping:

Let me see what happens with the Wife's A4 cabby first because if there's anyway I can keep the 30 I will.

It seems the Cabby 'might' be worth a bit more than I thought based on asking prices on ebay and autotrader. I wouldn't want to commit myself to a trade for a Gti until I know what the Audi sells for. If the Audi doesn't fetch as much as I need then I'll happily px to a Gti and a 3dr would be fine as we'd have a van for family use.

Yes but like I said before, we like to go camping down in Devon and Cornwall for long weekends during the summer.

So with two children under two, a big tent, all our other camping equipment, pushchair(s) etc, etc, etc...... the golf just isn't going to be big enough

keep the Ed30 and sale the A4 Cab for something bigger and more economical

the ed30 offers quite alot, enough space for the whole family on a day trip etc and not overly stupid on running cost and still fun when required

get a mpv diesel of some sort to replace the a4 cab

The A4 Cabriolet will almost definitely be going and will be replaced by a Touran Tdi, having looked at them at VW today, but we want a fairly new one.

This basically means that depending on what I get for the A4 (or if it doesn't sell) the ED30 may have to go or be traded down to a standard gti to release cash. In the meantime if I can recoup my money on the ED30 I'll do that and will take £14,250 for it as it is.

I think it's highly likely that the 30 will need to go though one way or the other, I'll see what happens.

A touran is not a bad alternative - picked ours up Weds and I only drove it today - its not actually as bad as I thought.

We went for the pre-facelift as we (me) had to have a sport model but didnt want to spend much more than £11-12k really - I think if it was being my main car then I would have had the facelift model.

It goes pretty well and with a remap and my Monza's on it should look better too

Not east to find.

FYI, my local dealer was selling unregistered black Touran Sports for £17.5k from list of £22k - they still have 2 I think if thats the kind of thing your looking for.

Because we'd be renting one every other week during summer and it'll get mighty expensive.

I will never buy another ford as long as I live......... the way I was treated by ford dealerships in the past has literaly put me off for life
