Protecting underbody/chassis
« on: September 26, 2012, 07:56:42 am »
Just wondering what you guys do to protect the underbody/chassis of your cars against corrosion, salt, general dirt and grime either regularly or long term management?

Next winter I might have my subframe and lower arms cleaned up and powdercoated to add a bit of protection

I would like to get a spare rear subframe shot blasted and powder coated...

As for now, I remove arch linings and removed all the collected mud/leafs/twigs from behind them and give the arches a good scrub/rinse/dry... Sad I know... :booty:

I removed a front arch lining recently and found nothing at all behind it. It was clean as a whistle! I suppose it depends on how manky the roads are in your area.

Well I live out in the sticks, so you get mud in the winter and hay in the summer covering the roads... it's quite something to keep on top of it...

Mine were full of compacted mud on both sides. Only found the mess as Ive had both front wings replaced recently
Gave both sides a good pressure wash and sprayed with waxoyl when dried
