I started Karate when I was 7 (My step father was a Red Belt at the time and got me and my brother into it), my Father got his Blackbelt 2 years later, I gave up when we moved house (could not get there in time due my father work hours), I was a green belt
.
Fast forward to me being 27 and I started Muay Thai when I was living in Singapore purely for fitness, although I did enjoy sparring with some of the lads who fought regularly (Apparently I have very quick reactions and quick hands for a big lad
), did that for 18 months.
Fast forward to now (39) and I start Jeet Kune Do next wednesday (again for getting back into shape mainly), was supposed to start 2 weeks ago but been so busy after house/business move, really looking forward it, looked into Wushu and Wing Chun before opting for JKD.
, If I dont like it (or the people) I will go to Wing Chun Classes instead, I am not fussed either way
They do several Martial Arts at the place I am going (Ronin Combat Academy), including JKD, MMA, Muay Thai, Filipino Arts (Dirty Boxing), Kenpo etc.
