ITG Maxogen intake
« on: September 26, 2012, 02:02:18 pm »
Hi guys! Just purchased this intake kit from Awesome whilst i was there having some other stuff done. On every picture i have seen of these installed there are some foam pieces to block the heat from the engine. I just presumed that these came with the kit, but i have none in my box

It is definately the right kit for K04 (Ed30).

Cheers

I have a foam shield with mine, but it doesn't fit right so I leave it off. This has no affect at all as far as I can tell. I know a lot of other members also leave there's off too. I just bought some open fog light grilles to encourage more air into the engine bay :-)

Ah ok thanks. To be honest i thought those foam blocks looked a bit turd so i think i might try and fashion something myself. Cheers for the speedy response!

The last maxogen kit I bought came with the big foam heat shield the filter pokes through and the foam strips everyone else has got.
Sounds like they were missing?

The kits no longer have the foam heat shield, instead you should have a cold air feed I think.

^^^ Correct! Just came off the phone to awesome and the latest kits dont have the foam blocks and instead have a piece of what looks like some high quality ducting. Still, i think i will try and build some sort of shield to block unwanted hot air!

---logs on to awesome to buy open fog grills---
