In my opinion, although ive never used one. I wouldnt want to touch it. Ive heard roumors of dodgey units causing more errors than before, and i would personally prefer to plug it into VAG COM and see exactly where the errors are. I might be wrong and its a brilliant cheap unit? I dont know

this is just a basic fault reader that would probably give you faults for using it , you cannot change settings with it , u will probably be able to delete faults with it tho

my opinion its pointless.

Yeah would be your best and safest bet, you could look on the VAG COM thread and someone in your area might be able to assist you! Where abouts are you based?

The cost of VAG COM might seem steep but as you can code so many things in and out with it. Becomes a very nice tool to have :)

Here's a side thought if you don't want to pay out for VAGCOM or VCDS HEX... get cheap Bluetooth OBD2 dongle for about £10 from eBay + Torque phone app. You can do so much more than you can with a simple fault code reader including reading/clearing faults, monitoring, logging, etc. :)

Any links to the OBD2 dongle?

If you dont have one yet you can have mine for a few pieces of gold. Used to remove airbag light 5 years ago and now lives in the shed unwanted and unloved.
