Dbilas air filter replacement.
« on: November 06, 2012, 09:29:39 pm »
I want replace my k&n Dbilas intake filter with a stock paper filter. I have searched and found that Dbilas use the 1 litre polo K&N filter. The trouble is to fit the Dbilas filter bay a stock filter needs to be 30mm deep as per the K&N, a replacement stock Polo filter is 50mm deep.
Anyone know of another paper element which would fit?

It might be easier to measure the filter and then go somewherenlike eurocarparts etc and get them to undo some boxes. Ive gone back to paper filters and have found no difference driving. Why dont you just refit the oe engine cober as the filter area on that should be larher than on the diblas.

We sell a pipercross element that replaces the restrictive dbilas box, a few on here have bought it and it makes a big difference.

Yes I believe I've got your old one with the pipercross cone filter.
I just want better filtration/less noise than using the k&n/pipercross.

@Matt I tried a BSH intake when I had K03 and it made quite a difference in peak MAF figures.

I expect a paper filter to fit this intake doesn't exist but thought it would be worth a go.
