Scratch removal
« on: September 29, 2012, 08:47:58 pm »
Recently bought a bmw 328i coupe as a project for the track. So being a detailer part time I decided to remove some scratches. Process was to measure paint depth, was an average of around 124 microns, use 2000 grade paper to flatten scratch, use a 3m wool pad and megs #105, then a 3m yellow pad with  #105 then #205 on a different pad. Then glazed using clearkote red moose via da with chemical guys finishing pad.

Before

After

Some light marks still visible to the eye close up but a good improvement.

More to come soon hopefully as there is more scratches and bird etching.

Craig
