what way do most people deal with stone chips
« on: October 06, 2012, 09:19:10 pm »
met black gti, 08 plate
im good for chip count but was wonderring what is the best way to treat the inevitable stone chips that we will get now and again.
is there a pack you can buy ? im assuming i will need colour coded touch up pen but is this the best way to go just for a diy fix,,, im thinking lacquer etc.
im not looking at priming, sanding etc just something to seal the chip and make it look its best
tahnks guys :driver:

You can buy touch up pens/sticks. You need to really clean the chipped areas beforehand. Touch in with a fine brush (don't bother with the huge ones you get with the pens). Some people mic the lacquer and paint 50/50. Once it is fully dry, you can polish or wetsand the extra paint back.

Other people just respray.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
