They're the covers I've got.  That trolley does look pretty cool.  I just wish my shed wasn't at the other end of the garden over 100ft of grass!!

At that price though I'm tempted anyway.

yeah it looks cool but tbh who cares whaat it looks like, its gonna go in a dark corner in the garage - right ? i mean it could be pink dots and in the corner of the garage what difference does it make ?
from the picture it doesnt look like they are stacked any different than just putting them on top of each other,,,, someone else commented that he stores his wheels / tyres just as in the picture - on top of each other,,, is this thing just a seles gimmick or oes it really make any diff ???
i just cant see why a tyre / wheel would have a problem being stacked on top of each other,,, if i was to buy this myself i would prob just phone someone like michelins tech help line and ask the experts,,,, never had a problem stacking wheels with tyres fitted for 15 years from 15inch to 18s,,,not convinced by this

....That's what I would be hoping for if I was interested in buying one.  

I don't know how long tyres have to be left stacked on top of each other so that the lower ones are bearing the weight of those above, so that it matters to the rubber condition. It's just something which I have heard some people warn against.

There's no doubt that rubber products do deteriorate over a long time.

one thing that does make sense is making sure the tyres / wheels are properly cleaned and fully dried before storage,,,, so you could eat your dinner of them as any dirt / sale etc will eat eat eat whilst in storage.
would the tyres / wheels still need rotating or flipping whilst on this storage rack do you think ?

I think as long as the tyre doesn't touch any object i.e. hanging from the rim either vertically or horizontally then you don't need to rotation.

Rotation is required when any pressure is put on tyre.  Well that's what I can figure out from tyre manufacturers websites.

I definitely clean and seal my wheels before storage. I've got the VW bags as in the pic above. I used to stack them on on the other but since I heard about having to rotate them, I stack them two on two which makes it easier to rotate. Never had issues with running them and they're the rims that go on when I go down the strip.

^^^^ with some wheel sealant I imagine such as Poorboys wheel sealant. Get mine from Cleanyourcar.co.uk, really good stuff.

Wheel sealant is for the alloy rim not the tyre right?  Can't see why you need to seal the alloy if its clean and in dry storage?  I'm assuming you do not put anything on the tyre itself, I've read on some manufacturers sites that you must not use tyre dressing.

^^^^ sealant is for your wheels not your tyres. You should be sealing your wheels on a regular basis anyway so just good practice IMO. Personally I don't put anything on the tyres before storage. No idea if putting anything on the tyres is detrimental, but reason to so while beong stored so don't .

Has anyone tried the vw wheel bags on 19" wheels?

I'll be storing my 19s in the winter and my 18s in the summer but eBay lists the vw bags up to 18"

There Is bags that go from 19" to 22" but I would prefer to just have the one set

I have just been using upside down buckets to store my wheels but it takes up a lot of room!

....A tyre expert on here will hopefully correct me if I'm wrong but logic tells me that to store tyres on the rims but not inflated, might more easily promote cracking.
