Major problem any help?
« on: October 09, 2012, 02:31:01 pm »
So car has been perfect and today I turned my steering wheel all the way to the right (full lock), I finished what I was doing went back into the car put the key in then went to start the car and the key will not turn at all not even so the ignition will start steering wheel is rock solid too.

Has this happened too anyone before?

here is a similar

http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,53700.0.html

As I replied in there are 3 possible areas where the problem could lie

1. The actual ignition barrel (the part that matches the key)
2. The Ignition Barrel with the electronic switch and security pin
3. The Steering Column

giggle or hold steering wheel tight in either direction and turn the key....
the lock just wont spring off cause the wheel in not in centre position.
