V9 maps in mine show V7970. This version has speed maps and traffic light cams too

I got to the point of it asking if i want to save to the HDD, left it a few mins and nothing happened so turned it off. Will have another bash tomorrow.

It copies in the background - takes about an hour in one hit, so I leave it in for the week whilst I drive  :happy2:

You need to make sure your on a 39xx or 4xxx firmware for this to work properly

I think im only on 2XXX but scared about updating incase it bricks!!! Will go into the secret menu to double check the maps and firmware

It wouldnt brick it

Use an official final release on a B or a C unit and youll have no issues. Such as this http://www.my-gti.com/3354/volkswagen-rns-510-firmware-upgrade-to-version-4020-4024-4026-4028

As long as you burn it at 1-2x on a good quality CD, and do not start the car and do not insert the key in the ignition itll upgrade just fine :)

Bacillus, you should know better than asking about pirated software. You need to buy the OEM discs from VW.

I take it as Im running 2760 with V7 I need to update the firmware and then the maps??

For the firmware what can I up date to as I know certain RNS's can only go to certain firmwares, mines an RNS Rev C LED so does anyone know what I can safely upgrade to?

My maps are showing as 7920 and when i re insert the maps disc, nothing happens...
