Updated my firmware to 4120 and re installed V9 maps. Highlighted the speed cameras and traffic light cameras in POIs but they are not coming up on my map from scrolling the map around. My map version is still showing up as V7920 as well despite re installing after the new firmware

Also my bluetooth (5k0) doesnt seem to want to work anymore. Not had enough time to look at it properly though. Il try unplugging it and plugging it back in again

I took the plunge and tried to upgrade my RNS 510 'A' running 2760 FW with V9 map data but it refuses to load. It doesn't ask me to save to the hard drive (it did once actually) and then either spits the disc out or brings up a disc error message.
It seems to be reading the data sometimes but just not saving it.  Is it because its such an early machine? Any ideas chaps?
Thanks.

What make of dvd are you using and did you burn it at a slow speed?
Apparently the disc likes to burnt bookmarked as dvd-rom for compatibality, something you can do with Nero of if your drive's firmware allows it.
Without traction power is nothing!

Youll need to use the V7970 maps Joe - 7920 doesnt have speed cams

Seconded

High quality DVD-DL such as verbatim burnt at 1x or 2x is the best approach

The disc was a Verbatim Dual Layer DVD+R I believe but it continually ejected itself and showed a disc error.  I've since burnt a TDK Dual Layer version and so far its staying in the machine at least.  Should I see some kind of progress bar? I pressed eject and it said it was downloading data with 'Eject' 'Notify' and 'Back' buttons below. Does this sound right?!
Thanks.

Hi I have a rns 510 b version. With 2760 firmware.

If I updated to v9 maps would I get speed cameras on the maps? Also by updating the maps does this update the speed limits too?

Thanks for any help

You'll only get speed cams if someone has modified the map.

Personally I prefer to use a virgin map and if I want to add POI's I can put them on SD.

Have you ever tried getting the pocketgpsworld database on the RNS?

Can POIs beep or just visual warnings?

Yes commercially available databases can be used however so far as I am aware it's visual only.

The speed limits are tied with the map data from Navteq so its accuracy is determined by their data. V9 database is from Q1 2012.

After buying V9 maps and their absolute refusal to load, I tried again with a disc I burnt and success is mine! I'm still on FW2760 and unless someone tells me different, my Rev A RNS 510 can't have it's Firmware upgraded any further? Can't say I see many changes to the mapping and I wonder if I'm actually seeing less road name information.
Interested to hear comments.
Thanks for your help.

As said at this time, any V9 map can't be genuine

only Eastern Europe is available as V9 which doesn't incude benelux, Uk, Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal

So I would guess any V9 advertised as V9 WE is a modified version of the Eastern V9 with the countries added to that
