Hexis Vehicle Wrap
« on: October 10, 2012, 04:59:52 pm »
Thinking of getting my roof and wing mirrors wrapped in carbon fibre as the cars tornado red should look good.

Ave found a wrapping company below

http://www.cjsigns.co.uk/vehicle-wrapping.php

there based in sheffield which is 50 miles away they use some sort ofhexis vinyl to wrap with anyone know if tis is good the women on thr phone said that its a adhesive and heat gun job and that hexis is a very good wont peel off etc etc its not the DI-Noc stuff which she said is not very good.

Anyone got any comments of thoughts pictures etc to share would be good i wanted to do the vw badges but she said they wont advise doing as theres not enough for it to grip to.

When my car was wrapped Hexis was used and it was superb stuff! Really easy to remove if required too. Can't say the same for some 3m vinyl I had to remove a month or so back!!

It was a Matt finish (don't even consider having it yourself....... nightmare!! ).

And not it didn't peel at all.

Had my rear valance and front splitter done with Hexis vinyl and its still looking good after nearly a year, have since bought some of the stuff to wrap all sorts of bits, very easy to work with. Was going to wrap my roof but am now using it up on smaller items. Also used the 3M Vinyl and IMHO it was easier to use (seems stronger and more malleable) but as I sold my last car with it still on I can't comment on its longevity.

Would have no hesitation it recommending the Hexis Vinyl for your roof.

I never bothered wrapping the mirrors, right PITA and depending on how much they are charging you may as well buy some new mirror covers (ready painted) from eBay, £30 each. Gloss Black ones......

Yeah mines a gt sport so I was gonna do the black grill in carbon and number plate surround front badge too. He's using 3m scotchprint 1080 which is meant to be quite good on a par or better workabikity then hexis

Leave the grill on, if the chap wants it taking off its only a few torx screws. Tis a lot easier to pull tight across the surface in situ then remove it for finishing.
