after a bit of searching finally found a company selling the much sought after gti drl grill kit
was previouslly veedubmachine but they are out of stock and have been for a while, also found a few companies selling this part but after closer looks they are copies and may come with their own problems
anyway the web site is here http://www.dubmonkeyz.co.uk//vw-1-c.asp
current price is £159 delivered,
this is the unit that has been tried and tested on this forrum and looks good, unit also auto dims when other lights on
let me know if anyone buys it, i just did so fingers crossed i can get the thing fitted.
gonna be an auto electrician for this one i think,,, will cost more than the unit lol

Hi

You should be OK because they're the same JOM units that veedubmachine sell!  Mine are still working well after 2 years of use.

No doubt you've read my long thread about these!

Feel free to ask any questions if you need any more info.

Good luck!

Paul.

hey dude, nice to hear from you, yes i read your thread - all 18 pages lol,,, got bored though after 11 pages so only read your logs after that, thanks for your input as i was a bit worried incase it wasnt the same ones as yours but you have set my mind at rest,,,
dude i can plug lightbulbs in but thats it,, so its of to find an auto electrician when they come,,,, fingers crossed i can find on and it aint gonna cost to much,,,, i guess i will ask vw if they will fit but i doubt it and if they do prob cost a lot.
your thread was very helpfull and red robin gave me the link so many many thanks,,, was a bit touch and go for a while on your install until danny i think it was helped you out but full marks for giving it a try,,, more guts than me dude,,, must have been doing your head in for a while.
i had to pay £159 for these 2 years after you bought yours for a cheaper price, thought i would have been cheaper but this seemed the only place that had stock apart from all the nutters on e-bay of which i didnt even look at due to the thing prob falling apart in my hands ( dont wanna get this wrong )
someone mentioned on your thread a prob with the towing eye ? didnt understand that, does it come of on the fitting ? so can the car still be towed,,, also if you dont mind could you pm me a link to your thread on this as i cant find it any more as i will use it for reference incase i get in trouble,,, surely an auto electrician will know what to do ?????? man i hope so,,,, but yes your lights look wikked,,, very nice indeed so many many thanks,,, just also bought a pot of balck exhaust paint for my hubs,, got the idea on here somewhere,,, £6 looks cool
thanks buddy and thanks for your massive thread  :happy2:

Hi

To gain access to the front towing eye, you have to remove the foglight grill anyway.  The only difference is that you will now have to remove one grill and then simply unplug the wire for the DRL (see the yellow/black plug in the pic below):

I'm sure you'll find someone to assist you!
