Roadhawk - any input?
« on: October 12, 2012, 01:30:23 pm »
http://www.roadhawk.co.uk/

Saw this recommended on another site. Never heard of it but do wonder whether it's a good idea.

I remember watching a video on youtube about some woman who did a hit'n'run on an elderly man crossing the road and it apparently went to court. Some cynics said it was an advert for the product.

Any thoughts?

I prefer the BlackVue myself. Hidden away behind the rear view mirror.

Phone mount and free (or cheap) software seems popular.

Gopro :)

Sure it only runs for a couple of ours but you get to crash in HD at 60 frames a second :)

Exactly what I was looking at last night Stealthwolf (I think we were on the same forum) although  I didn`t want to spend so much money. The BlackVue looks good, very discreet but again out of my price range. There seems to be quite  few cheap alternatives out there but I`ve no idea how their quality / performance.

In my line of work I have started seeing more and more of these kind of camerasbeing used and they really do help you and your insurers with accidents!

Been looking to get one for a while now, think I might get a BlackVue when payday comes around :)

DNUK?

Price isn't the issue. A few hundred quid is better than losing more than that in a disputed claim where you would have to pay 50/50.

Will have a look at the Blackvue one later.

Out of the two I prefer the RoadHawk system, gives a lot of detail, more than I thought it would.
