The Rolling Stones Return!......
« on: October 11, 2012, 03:06:14 pm »

Rock 'n Roll doesn't get much better than this!  :notworthy:

Typical Stones sound and I love Charlie's light touch at the very end - Typical 'just-do-it' and who cares  :notworthy:

I am liking that :happy2:
Simple but effective video aswell.

You have to admire the way they constantly turn out quality music after all these years.

My personal favourite classic track is 'gimme shelter' especially when listened to at the beginning of the film 'the departed' (quality movie!)

"Gimmie Shelter" is also one of my most favourite tracks - To the point that I would be happy to have it played at my funeral!

If you like the Stones I strongly recommend reading Keith's autobiography "Life". Here he is being interviewed by Andrew Marr about his book - Very entertaining in itself. I love Keef's ability to describe things with humour without being a comedian.

^ Part 1  :notworthy: Love him to bits! Great guy who is exceptionally articulate  :notworthy:

Quality stuff Robin, must dig out my stones CD's now.

How Keith is still above ground is a miracle, legend is the only word to describe him! All time favourite Stones song has to be "Sympathy For The Devil", would love that at my funeral!!

"Sympathy For The Devil" is also one of my Stones' favourites - So many!

This live performance of it is exceptional:

Good clips there Robin, keith comes across as a genuine, warm naturally funny guy. With all that talent in one group and over all that period of time it is only natural that they had their disagreements, its so good that for the sake of their craft and their own well being that they dealt with it (lesson to us all there!) and continue to make such good music. Lives well lived :notworthy:

Enjoyed that, cheers Robin.

Everything just stopped at work as I ordered them all to listen to "Sympathy", all 8.02 minutes of it!  Not sure the youngsters here with me are in agreement with our appreciation of the Stones. Oh well, radio is back on now and all sorts of drivel is blasting out!

Could not agree more Phil, seems a very genuine chap.  :happy2:

....I'm amazed by how many young folks love the Stones. I was in an Oakley shop in Portsmouth recently (wearing my Rolling Stones jacket) and the young staff were all over me voicing their appreciation of the Stones. My 21yo duaghter and her mates have been into them for years too, as well as much more up-to-date music. Nowadays, musical taste is much more eclectic and broader than in my generation.

Yep, Keith Richards is the real thing! The Stones make their music because they love doing it - It's that simple and always has been - Genuine enthusiasts.
