Any recomendations for up rating the standard dash mounted stereo in a mk5 golf for a headunit with sat nav?

Lot's of options, all depends, as above, on whether you want to go OEM or aftermarket along with what your budget is and what you intend it to do other than nav.

I have just has Eddie retrofit  two Rns 510 s for me and they look the part as in look like they should be there and work very well as well , So id say RNS-510

2 sat navs = 2x cars

both were very nice

RNS510 is a very good unit. Very popular, its a VW part. Fairly easy to fit with a basic understanding and a few tools. There are also people on here like SqueegUk or Eddie who would fit this for you  :)

RNS 510 all the way.  It has got to the best oem sat nav.... it was my 2nd best mod.... after Revo!
