Hi all,
So I've just had a rns510 and fiscon bluetooth fitted to my car by Degudodger ( excellent chap by the way )
Now when I make calls through bluetooth or use bluetooth music streaming the blutooth will cut off every few seconds and is generally sketchy, at which point the music from the fns HDD will resume playing, presumably since it thinks there's no bluetooth connection anymore so resume what was happening.
I initially assumed that the fault was down to a lose cable and a simple re jiggle would suffice.
However I've had a look on fiscons website and I think it's due to my telephone prep kit that is installed:
Q:The voice is interrupded, the radio is blinking.
A: If you have a OEM handsfree installed at the same time you need to remove the fuse or connector of the phone interface. Otherwise the old handsfree can disturb the communication.
So I looked to remove the fuse for the unit... first of all it's not clear on any fuse diagram, secondly when I did see reference to a telephone in the fuse diag it was in slot 48 - which is unused. So I removed fuse 49 in the interest of science and what happened was strange, the bluetooth still worked with the same fault however music streaming would just not work?
I'd like to remove the unit all together ( I think what I'm reffering to is a nokia rsap controller which is used for the wired phone prep kit cradle ) and the fiscon manual says it is located under the passenger seat ( The same location as the 5k0 phone unit) , however it's not on mine I just have carpet so I don't know where it is!
Has anyone installed fiscon basic plus with an existing wire phone prep kit? Did you have similar issues?
Would really appreciate any help. Even if it's just to advise of what fuse to remove or where to find the box with it not being under the passenger seat.
Hopefully this thread can help someone in the future as I've not found any instance of someone trying to do this before or having this problem.
Regards
Tom
