Had a little something going on over the weekend, in the way of a Devils Own w/m kit. I took my time fitting it as i have been tooing and froing here and there.
I started by getting all of my wiring ready to plumb in.
I had to strip out the battery and the glove box to get the wires through the bulkhead, (total barstewards of a job)
I hid all of the wiring under the carpet and fixed the relay underneath the passenger footwell.
Next i took a 12v ignition live from the cigarette lighter. I just tapped into the wire for this.
All of the methanol feed line was next, that had to go from the pump in the boot, through the bulkhead then into the inlet pipe.
To mount the pump and tank i got a sheet of mdf and cut them out just a little bit bigger than the tank and pump and mounted it behind the carpet on the wheel arch and for the pump i bonded it to the boot floor. I bonded them in because i didn't fancy drilling the bodywork.
I then ran the boost line, again through the bulkhead. I mounted the boost controller in the flipdown drawer under the drivers side dash. Makes for easy adjustment.
I then inserted the jet into the inlet pipe and connected up the meth pipe.
After connecting up all of the wiring to appropriate place I fired up the car to check all was working.
Gutted. No power to the pump. Checked everything down to the last wire. All was present and correct. Or so i thought.
Shot down to statllers for a bit of know how and low and behold i had tapped into the wrong wire for the 12v ignition live.
Switched it around and bingo, fired up.
Shot back home and put everything back together.
Here's the finished article.
Not had time to get any methanol theough it yet.
Tried a bit of water and have to say there is some noticable difference.
Car feels a little stronger now.
Can't wait untill tomorrow now to get some methanol mix in. Going to get it dyno'd also to see what the differences are with and without.
Need my new clutch now.
Thanks for looking, Gaz
