So.... booked the car in for a Stage 1 Revo remap and to have my R32 brakes fitted at AKS tuning. Credit to Alex once again, top service and the difference in the car is excellent. The brakes fill the wheels so much more than the standard set up.

I'm not quite sure on the front end at the minute so looking to change the red lip around the grill and have a play with the fog lights, grills and vw badge.

I also grabbed a few pictures when my uncle popped over in his new car

What about the grille strip in blue to tie in with the calipers?

Ordered some blue vinyl last night that should be an exact match to the calipers, so will see how i get on with that. I also have a matt black VW badge in the garage so will throw that on and look at removing the gti badge.

Changed the grill strip to blue to match the calipers. (Excuse the dirty car and poor picture). Still not overly sure on it so would like to pick up another grill if i get chance to have a play about with.

Did you have a mk3 Ibiza before this?

I did indeed, was quite a while a go now. I had a project thread on seatcupra.net.

Haha, yes the DSG paddles are quite large, lol. To be honest they're not my cup of tea, i think the originals are in the boot. They were purchased from America and are replacements rather than extensions. I may buy smaller ones or spray these matt black to make them stand out a bit less.

....Paint probably won't be durable enough through constant use. Vinyl wrap them? Carbon vinyl?

Paddle extensions are a really great practical mod on a DSG Golf - The OEM paddles are tiny and not easily reached if you are 'busy' at the wheel. Fast exit of a hairpin for example.

Also, if your existing paddles are wired-in etc they'll be a pain in the arse to swop.

If you don't like the alu appearance I would do some miles with them before deciding if you don't want them.

Progress has been slow through recent months. The car had been throwing up an EML light when under hard acceleration and going into limp mode  this made overtaking somewhat interesting. Firstly a big thanks to "Squeeguk" for scanning the car on several occasions and diagnosing my issue. The code was "P0123 Throttle Position Sensor (G69): Signal too High" which meant a replacement throttle body. I picked up a brand new replacement from TPS who were considerably cheaper than VW and after a few hours on axle stands in the drive problem solved  :happy2:

Because of the TB issue the car has been a little neglected and now with the weather getting better it was time to start the mods. Firstly a little bit of weight saving    drilled out a few holes in the lower fog light grill. I was never overly keen on the open grills nor the standard ones so this is a happy medium.

Next up was to FINALLY get the turini's on, they've been stuck in the garage for far too long so new tyres and on they went.

Ever since i had the car lowered it would always catch the screw in the arch, whilst it was up on axle stands it was a good opportunity to do the screw arch mod to accommodate the turini's which are a half inch wider.

I wasn't completely sure on them when i first fitted them, must have been down to the colour change and the fact i really like the pescara's. A few weeks on and i'm definitely happy with how it all looks now. The 8j wheels fit the arches that much better.

I've had some Lamin-x in the garage for a while so contemplating putting it on the fog lights but I'll leave it as it is for the time being. The car is also due a service so will need to give AKS a call and get it booked in for an oil change and maybe a few upgrades here and there.
