Progress has been slow through recent months. The car had been throwing up an EML light when under hard acceleration and going into limp mode
this made overtaking somewhat interesting. Firstly a big thanks to "Squeeguk" for scanning the car on several occasions and diagnosing my issue. The code was "P0123 Throttle Position Sensor (G69): Signal too High" which meant a replacement throttle body. I picked up a brand new replacement from TPS who were considerably cheaper than VW and after a few hours on axle stands in the drive problem solved
Because of the TB issue the car has been a little neglected and now with the weather getting better it was time to start the mods. Firstly a little bit of weight saving
drilled out a few holes in the lower fog light grill. I was never overly keen on the open grills nor the standard ones so this is a happy medium.
Next up was to FINALLY get the turini's on, they've been stuck in the garage for far too long so new tyres and on they went.
Ever since i had the car lowered it would always catch the screw in the arch, whilst it was up on axle stands it was a good opportunity to do the screw arch mod to accommodate the turini's which are a half inch wider.
I wasn't completely sure on them when i first fitted them, must have been down to the colour change and the fact i really like the pescara's. A few weeks on and i'm definitely happy with how it all looks now. The 8j wheels fit the arches that much better.
I've had some Lamin-x in the garage for a while so contemplating putting it on the fog lights but I'll leave it as it is for the time being. The car is also due a service so will need to give AKS a call and get it booked in for an oil change and maybe a few upgrades here and there.
