What exhaust do I need for R32 Rear??
« on: October 19, 2012, 09:11:54 pm »
Hi guys, just wondering what exhaust do i need for an R32 rear on my car?

Does the OEM R32 cat-back exhaust line up the same as the GTI one?

So could i just shop around for a cat back exhaust for the R32?

.
The OEM Mk5 R32 'lower rear spoiler' (as VW call it) has cutouts to allow various exhaust configurations: GTI twin, R32 centred, and quads (like mine). You just need to add the appropriate 'exhaust trim' (shown carbon in the pic of mine):

....It depends on which lower trim. If VW OEM then not that expensive but if real carbon like the OSIR.................... Expensive!

The R32 exhaust back box won't fit the GTI.

You will need to go for a R32 style back box either from they guys who make them (Milltek, BCS, etc) or get a custom one made.
Diamond Black 2007 (56) Golf GTI 3Dr DSG ¦ 18" Monza II's ¦ Cruise control ¦ MFSW ¦ Highline ¦ Rear parking sensors ¦ PDT Stage 1 ¦ Forge Twintake ¦ H&R Sport Springs ¦ NQSBBK ¦ R32 Rear bumper ¦ BCS Powervalve Sports R32 style TBE ¦ Valeo LED Rear Lights ¦ Xenon lights with HID kit ¦ DNX521DAB ¦ 12mm Spacers all round ¦

No worries, glad you pointed out that I can have an R32 rear with standard exhaust still! May go down that route as i may not want it to look 100% like an R32 and keep a bit of GTIness
