BI Xenon Activation
« on: October 22, 2012, 02:31:08 pm »
Hi Guys,

Couple of weeks ago I retrofitted OEM xenon headlamps to my MK5 Golf 1.9 TDI Sport using the kufatec convertors. I did not wire up the BI Xenon wire as I was not too sure if it would work.

Without coding the lights were flickering. Anyways whilst Coding the lights I came to realise that my car only had the midline convinience module.

I had to go down the route of changing the long coding.. I added HEX 10 to Byte 3 as I did not have the option to enable xenons with shutters.

the lights work perfectly fine now, however what I want to know is, if i wire the BI xenon will the lights still work fine as I have coded them via long coding or will I have to replace the module in order to get he shutters to work properly?

you need a highline cecm to operate the shutters
probably not worth buying a new cecm just for high beam xenons...
i have listed a link below explaining all
