Data useage issue on iphone 5 / ios6?

Anyone else had data warnings with their new phone / new ios software?

I've read its been an issue in the US with phones using data even when they are on wifi but my girlfriend has had a text again this month saying she is getting close to her limit. she had one last month too again after using the iphone 5 for a couple of weeks.

Same contract she has been on for the last 24 months with her iphone 3s and never used more than 200-300mb per month.

She is on o2 with 500mb allowance.

ive heard of the same thing with the iphone 5 and a few people that i know have had it

one lad used 2g of data in 3 weeks

aparently its to do with the location settings etc for all the apps so its constantly refreshing when moving around and using data

I think it was actually down to carrier apn settings. Basically, carrier was still sending data via cellular even when wifi was on. Ask your carrier if you are affected.
