GY Eagle F1 Ass 2 pressure

Hi all

I just got a set of 4 Goodyear Eagle Assymetric 2's fitted and am chuffed to bits with the way they grip the road.  To those who have these tyres, what pressures do you run them at? 

The garage who fitted them put them up to 32 psi all round and if I wiggle the steering wheel and let go, its like riding a wave for a second or so.  I just put the fronts up to 35 and the rears to 33 to see if it improves things, I'll test it tomorrow.  It made my last car feel better so will try with the Golf.

I'm on standard 17" rims and didn't really expect this sort of wobble from these tyres.

1. it'll take a while to scrub the tyres in a remove the block wobble.
2. you're right, 32 was way too low, these seem to like a bit higher pressure.

I ran these at 37, 35, 32 psi and with them on the front and on the back (pair of PS2s on the other axle). I found that sticking them on the back meant I could go round corners faster but they were more likely to suddenly break traction without warning. On the front, I don't seem to have that issue. Agreed that running 35-37psi meant they felt better - FYI the recommended pressures for 18" rims on the ED30 are 37psi/2.6 bar.

My set of 18" GY F1 2's are run at 2.6 (38psi) and seem spot on for me. IIRC the standard 17"s on a GTI specify 2.4 (35psi), maybe worth going up 1 or 2 psi for you though. Best tyres I've had on any car I've owned in all round, all weather, everyday conditions.

It sounds like going up to 35 psi is definately the right thing to do then,  so at what pressure will the tyres start to wear too much in the center?

Should all my tyres be at the same pressure or the rears a couple of psi lower?

I run mine at 36psi on the front and 32psi on the rear. Smetimes the fronts look like they could do with a ittle more but they seem to work well at that pressure so will stick with it for now.

I always just run at what pressure is Reccomended on the fuel cap (2.4bar)

My goodyears still have 7mm (rear) 6.5mm (front) left on them after 5k miles

Although the volume of air might go up with bigger tyres the pressure put in will still have the same effect just more volume of air is needed to reach the same pressure

Tyre fitters always seem to just put 32psi into tyres no matter what car they are fitting them for
