armrest ?
« on: October 20, 2012, 10:52:18 am »
Hi guys I am looking to fit a mdi ipod kit to my gt tdi, I have a standard armrest with the l shape storage space.
My question is are the arm rests that are fitted with a changer, the same as the arm rest fittrf with the mdi ipod dock.
Can I just remove the changer and slot in the mdi ipod dock or is the arm rest a totally different model
Thanks any help would be magic

if you have the L shape cubby bin then you need to change the cover and the duct pipe in the armrest

You could just fit the mdi in the glovebox or behind the dash.

Yes - no more than 30 mins if you decide not to install the pipes to get the rear vents working. Prices vary - normally around the £140 mark second hand. Few on eBay at the moment. I have one with the mdi dock space i will be reselling due to a non paying ebayer but it is missing the back parts so I would recommend you buy a whole one  :happy2: ill prob end up splitting the parts on it this time anyway :)
