Has anyones car ever felt slower after a service??

Hi folks, I had my car serviced last week by the stealers and specifically told them not to touch the ECU as I had a remap done. Having been drving the car for the past week I have noticed it feels slower, at first I thought they had flashed the ECU but now I think it may be that the turbo doesnt really kick in... Any thoughts? Thanks.

Just check under the bonnet, make sure everything is connected up ok. Had a van back after service once hardly any power on the motorway, looked under the bonnet one of the air intake hoses and come off, jubliee clip not tightened up properly!

You running revo by any chance?? Doesn't that lose a lot of settings if you disconnect the battery.

....Good point but a Service shouldn't necessitate any disconnection of the battery. Every time that someone is going to work on my car I always ask if they intend to disconnect my battery and if so, I reset my Revo to what it calls 'Stock' beforehand and then back again afterwards.

Revo doesn't lose it's settings it just reverts to stock values once the battery is disconnected.

B1 T0 F0 I think. All you need to do is set your SPS to the values you want and plug it in.

Yes I had the cam belt done, does this mean the batt was disconnected and now the car is back to stock?

What he means is the cam could of been installed with one tooth out of re installing the timing belt, which would illustrate power loss.

And yes if the battery has been discounted your revo settings would of gone back to Valet mode, again, giving you loss of power, both worth getting checked.

some garages do disconnect the battery to do it for safety--your best bet is to go to the nearest revo dealer to see if your setting have gone to valet mode or ring the garage to see if they did disconnect the battery

While your job is still fresh in the garage's minds it should be easy to find out if they disconnected the battery or not.

If they did, before going to a Revo agent you could use the Revo switch (you don't need to have the more advanced switch version) to switch to and from the Revo map yourself. If that doesn't show a difference in performance then visit any Revo agent but have proof of your Revo purchase and be prepared to be charged a nominal fee of ~£25.

last time cambelt was changed on my MK4 gt tdi, the deisel pump was 5 teeth out    i definately noticed a performance drop. Garage said nothing was wrong, so i had to take it somewhere else & they fried the ecu somehow   , probably disconnecting the battery i would guess
