Had my GTi 2 days... my verdict/questions
« on: October 28, 2012, 01:43:58 pm »
is... its awesome!!! Much more refined and much nicer to drive than my previous megane 225 (also a 2.0T)

Very very happy with it, only thing I miss from my previous car is the keyless entry as found it very useful, but now i've got extras I didn't have before like heated seats which i love!! The grip and power gets put down lot easier, my 225 used to spin its wheels soo easily!

Anyway... got a question or two

What do original mk5 GTi front mats look like?  (mine hasn't got any and need to buy)  (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-GTi-1997-to-2012-Fully-Tailored-Car-Mats-Customise-Your-Mats-VT009-/190745209762?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Rugs_Runners_Mats&var=&hash=item2c694ceba2    these seem good but what combo is original?)

The VW badge on the key is worn i've seen replacement on ebay i.e just the vw logo circle, are they easy to fit?

The original mats were just plain black. They didn't have any motif on them.

official VW mats
http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/accessories/convenience-and-protection/ZGB1K2061225GA/gti-carpet-mat-set?mark=golf-2004-2009&previousCategory=all&search=gti

Be careful as these are the pop on type and on earlier cars (like mine) they are oval twist and lock which is a different part number I can't find

VW key badge is 3B0 837 891 and the GTI version is 3B0 837 891 GTI and cost a few quid each from the stealers

The original mats were just plain black. They didn't have any motif on them.

I've got an original 05 GTI and the original mats are actually grey like the interior, not black.

lol, was your 225 broken, or perhaps have cr4p tyres?

Can safely say that the Meggy is better to drive than the Golf, shame about literally everything else lol.

lol nah i think the drive of the golf is generally much nicer, power delivery is much smoother. Don't get me wrong I loved my 225 it was a good car, just after 3 days the golf is feeling lot better in my opinion :)
