Lotus in the leaves
« on: October 27, 2012, 10:24:17 pm »
I am really struggling, trying to take pics of this colour. Even though it is on the neutral side of the scale, it sticks out like a sore thumb, and although great for hiding scratches it doesnt carry much depth.

WOW. A Dream car
I can't wait to see it for real.

I absolutely love the colour Tom. The contrast against the black works so well.  :notworthy:

Even the subtle bits of amber on the Lotus badges/wheel centres, the Cup decals and the APcalipers is just great against the blue and black  :happy2:

My fave photo has to be the 4th one. Great angle.  :congrats:
(Although it was hard to pic a favourite)

Pics 1 and 3 are my favourites but they all work well IMO. I see exactly what you mean about the colour and you have to rely more on reflections and composition.

Hedge's idea of near water is a good one worth trying - Especially if it's waters which are reflecting the blues and turquoise greens from the sky.

I can see some of your troubles you are having, but, why do you want to hide the car? You want the car to stand out from its surroundings. Anyway, my favourite is No#1. The close up of the n/s/f wheel, would I think look better if it was shot lower down - looking up at the wheel.

What about taking a shot of the car on the apex of a corner of a race track - the cars natural home - just a thought.  :happy2:

Good idea, it is just a bit tricky trying to hold the apex and get my arm far enough out of the window for the shot.   :star:
