Checked the alignment and wheel balancing?
Without traction power is nothing!

Just to rule out something simple, check all the nuts are fully tightened. You'd be suprised how often i notice it on the cars at work!

Changed the tyres over on friday and tried moving things with a big bar.....everything was solid apart from the rear bush, should this have play in it?
Also what are the symptoms of top mounts going? and what are the symptoms of a cv joint going?...oh and nuts are on nice and tight...checked them on friday

Could be a wheel bearing??

Do you hear a vibration/noise when turning right at speed (ie. when the cars load is transferred onto the front left wheel). the noise will disappear when turning right and the left wheel is not taking as much load.

This is a relatively cheap fix at about £70 incl labour.

Wheel bearing is around £100 for a front one on a mk5
Then around an hours labour min £50

I had mine done on a warrenty, the reciept was for around the £70 mark.

Although that was a few years ago and at an independent garage.

My wife took the car to get the alignment done again this week, the guy said it was well out again????anyway he corrected it but im still getting the feeling. Yes the noise does transfer when changing direction but i jacked the car up and had a push and pull of the wheel but there was no movement????im well confused.
