Total spark plug confusion
« on: October 31, 2012, 01:04:15 pm »
Ive done some research on here and I'm still confused I decided to go with the Bosch plugs which i hope will stop my car struggling to start on cold morning but don't know which ones I need.

I have a standard 08 golf gti not sure if its the TFSI or the FSI engine I have but I'm after a full set and is this correct part number which I've seen on eBay and if there is anywhere else where I can get them from please let me know.

FR5KPP332S

My car is standard at the moment but I am looking to stage 1 in the future after I've upgraded my Diverter Valve.

Thanks

Your engine is a TFSI. The 'T' stands for turbocharged.

That part number is correct. You can also use NGK plugs: PFR7S8EG-1675. VW changed to these, but have apparently reverted to the Bosch ones again. I changed to these plugs and have no issues.

I fitted the Bosch ones and find they start loads better than the NGK I had fitted before. The part number is in my sig below.

Yes think I'm going to go for the Bosch plugs. Where did u get your from 56OCTYVRS, I had a look on halfords website so I can pick some up on the way back from work but there's loads on there and I'm not sure which ones are correct?

504, 510 and 520 all super apparently

Are any of them the right ones?

I purchased mine from TPS who sell genuine VAG parts at a reduced price to the trade. Some sell to the public but others dont. I would go onto the TPS website and find your local dealer to see if they would sell them to you.

Thanks for the help.

I've ordered some last night off eBay 39quid with postage and package included.

I'll be getting a garage to fit them so I get the service stamp.

Should've bought them from eurocarparts with a 25% discount.
