Vredestein Ultrac Vorti
« on: October 20, 2012, 07:00:55 pm »
I'm in need of two new tyres ASAP, and I'm considering the new Vred Ultrac Vorti.  Have heard only good things abodut the Ultrac Sessanta, so I'm hoping these are as good.  Anyone on here tried them yet?  Verdict?

Currently running CS3s and as much as I love them, at £130+ a corner I could do with a cheaper alternative.

Im considering these at the moment as well. Ive been running Vredestein Sessantas for 2 years now (been through three pairs) and love them.

I've been saying to myself for the last 6 months that i would change to Goodyears or something similar. But I think I'm going to bite the bullet tomorrow and buy a pair of 225/40/18 Vorti's. Ill run these up front and the current Sessantas on the rear.

I'll let you know what I think of them shortly. There are very little reviews on them, but any info I have found seems good! (also having vred ultrac on all the sitewalls appeals to me - sad I know!)

Is the Vorti the replacement for the Sessanta?

The booklet i read indicated they were the replacement as many brands seem to be going for the asymmetrical tread pattern. I was quoted £115 fitted at click on tyres near me in shipley or £130 for the goodyears.

I've had these on for just over a week now (400miles).

First impressions - they feel similar to the sessantas they replaced but turn in has definately improved as has steering feel.
However in a straight line putting the power down, they seem to spin easier (but it has been very wet and I've only had one or two dry days with them).

Overall they seem to grip better and have brought a bit of life back to my steering, which I thought had lost something of late. At under £105 each I'd say they are great value. I'll definitely be buying another pair soon!

New tyres ideally should go on the back of a fwd car, a few threads on the forum and interweb about this.

Cheers bud.

The sessantas on the rear have done under 2000 miles, so probably much of a muchness I thought.
