unless im getting this wrong you want to know at what revs should a dsg car change from 4th to 5th?

And the answer is it depends on how hard you are accelerating.

if im wrong can you rephrase the question ?

correct what rev should a dsg change from 4th to 5th appox in D mode when i am accelarating hard.
im finding that mine is not changing for 3rd to 4th or 4th to 5th at the correct times ONLY when accelerating hard.  it does eventually change gears but only when rev counters hit high mark

If you have your foot down the dsg changes up late. Which is what you want.

The only times I'd be giving full acceleration are in S or M mode. Doesn't make much sense in D. As previously mentioned the box will change up later in the revs the harder u accelerate. This way u will get max performance for the selected gear

thanks guys
i had the DSG reset via VAG COM today.  its made a subtle difference and seems more responsive.  also getting away in first gear is alot smoother than before.  theres no jerk pulling away.  think im happy with it now.
