Basically I want the tail lights all red, but still the LEDs! Thought the jap spec ones were LEDs - turns out they are just bulbs!! Live & learn

Surely red film on the outside of the lights covering the whole lot would work?

I've found a lamp online for a few £££ - going to wait for it to arrive and see if I can split that. I ain't doing anything to the jap ones just yet as I've put them back in their boxes for now.

Also my other roll of red vinyl should arrive soon, so going to use lots of soapy water and some heat!!!

Soapy water is your friend if your having issues!  Failing that, im sure a professional wouldnt be too much for them to wrap it for you if your pleased with the colour, just not the lines and bubbles in it!  :P

Yep, warm soapy water has always worked a treat for me working your way from the inside out, then using a heat gun to allow the covering to stretch and conform to the compound shapes and over the edges.

Postman brought me more red vinyl. Going to get started on it at the weekend. Oh and hoping to get rid of a pair of headlights I bought to split & paint (1 Hella, 1 depo!) so I can afford a set Hella xenon look headlights

No further forward with the headlights upgrade yet. Also no further forward with the tail lights.

I've been concentrating on updating the front end.! I bought a GT front grill off ebay for £8 - so stripped it down and took the painted panel to the local bodyshop I use. they are smoothing the numberplate mounting holes and painting the panel in the same colour as the car - pic it up on Thursday - sort out how to mount the plate now! I have an Alfa 156 offset number plate mount (also an ebay find) and i'll remove the covering bracket under the headlight and mount it onto that somehow!

Smooth front end trial fit (also a quick wash) - sorry about the ride height - I'm waiting for the coilover fairy to bring me a present at Christmas!

Also got round to fitting my black plastic parts (hazard warning light, expansion bottle cap & washer reservoir cap) & a genuine R8 oil filler I've had for years

New xenon-style headlights on their way
