Cheers lads. I actually thought the exhaust sounded noticeably quieter driving home with the stock map although I didn't push it to hear it at its loudest.

Matt I am in Nottingham 3 days a week now so it should be dead easy to meet up sometime.

Nice upgrades. Why have you switched from closed ITG to open one?

R Tech asked for me to fit the open filter before they started the mapping. I haven't had a chance to compare the two but the closed kit still flowed 190 kg/s on the original turbo.

Not sure if I'll go through the effort of refitting the closed kit as a comparison!!

I've just seen some figs.
Does anybody else want to see some figs or should I let Mr Gower share them?

It's going to be entertaining.

I can't help but agree. Look forward to the stronger actuator, might just make things a bit mental.

Oh alright then

Shamlessly nicked from Nick's Facebook page. All credit to Beach Buggy, AKS for the oily stuff and most of all to Nick and R Tech for the sterling work on the software.

OK.  Figures look awesome for a hybrid but whats the price on this turbo.  By my reckoning it needs to be cheap to justify it over a K04.

A K04 can be had for around £750-1000 add some S3 injectors ontop just as is required for this hybrid turbo mated to your previous stage 2+ setup and you would be running a further 30-40Hp with proven solid reliability.

IUm struggling to see why you would choose this over a K04 £/bhp wise.

I see what you're saying and I'm not saying it's wrong, but there's definitely an argument for "Why not? Let's have a go and see what happens, it might just be good" after all, if we all did the same thing and never investigated anything new, the world would be a boring place and we'd never make any progress. Niki has already hinted on his Facebook page that if this is a success (and don't forget this is at R and D stage according to the header on the dyno chart) and performs well, this will be the best, easiest and cheapest upgrade for the TFSI, possibly suggesting that it will come in cheaper than a K04 conversion.

It certainly needs to be cheaper though. It's a 30-40hp lower output.

That's like the difference between stage 1 and stage 2+
