Anyone running a Loba clutch yet? Options...
« on: November 08, 2012, 03:36:46 pm »
Looks like my Sachs has gone the way of the dodo, Steve is sending it back to Sachs but dont expect to get owt really.

So... my options appear to be -

a.) Put another Sachs clutch in.
b.) Put a Loba (Sachs) clutch in with Loba flywheel
c.) Put a Helix clutch in with the brand new oem dmf
d.) Consider a southbend/spec/clutchmaster

All of the above seem to have advantages and disadvantages and costs must be considered. Am tempted to go with option c although option b could be tempting if it was not for fact hav already paid for brand new oem dmf and the loba clutch comes with their own lightened flywheel in sam package and is about $1000 euro...

any thoughts appreciated...

I se Awesome stock Helix now, and Vrs Alex has always rated them. Are ECS and SPEC one and the same?

When mine gives up the ghost i will be getting the Helix with (more than likely) the DMF.

Someone please correct me if wrong but I read that the DMF is more suited to road use and more usable in town driving whereas the single has a stiffer pedal and more road/track feel??  I think I've just confused myself there!

I say either the Helix with the DMF you already have, or the Helix organic with the lightweight single mass flywheel.

Or the Helix twin plate kit

so helix is a UK firm with good customer aftercare Alex?

If using my oem DMF how would the 6 paddle one get on with that? is it worth the extra if it will provide extra rigidity in terms of handling the power and torque of stg 2+?
