Serious missfire

On the way home from work this evening my car started to feel like it was running on 2-3 cylinders. I flicked down into 4th for an overtake and at around 4500rpm the car started to rumble and sound very poorly indeed.  I limped home and re-started a couple of times but its running like a 2 stroke 

Iv'e had my Bluefin Stage 1 now for just a week and I suspect it has something to do with the new map?? I have no warning lights or any tell tale signs on the dash. Incidentally I was nowhere nere the rev limiter as I never stress an engine that much.

I recall someone on here having a similar issue and now I can't find the thread?

Any idea's guys?

Coilpack for sure, replace all 4. I'd probably do the plugs too.

That sounds expensive Tony  Are they something the dealers keep in stock?
Also if I re-map back to std map will it be a temp fix or are they FUBAR?

No, afraid not. Car is the same this morning too. Sounds like its running on 2 cylinders and has a blown exhaust. If I can I'll get a short film clip up on here.
Anyone know an aproximate cost of a Coil Pack. Its amazing how hard it is to find info by googling it

Id imagine you would not get much change out of GBP 200 for 4 coil packs and 4 plugs including taxes and fitting from a dealer.

Managed to get the car to a garage this morning. Mechanic seems to think Coil Packs too.
4 x Coil Packs and a set of plugs are on oder and should be fitted tomorrow.
My only other concern is it may be the Diverter Valve as there's still no lights on the dash.

Incidentaly Superchips Tech support thought Coil Pack faults were unlikely and the guy I spoke to said he'd hardly heard of any issues with them after a re-map  This seemed odd to me when you find all the threads on here from folk having coil pack problems.

whilst changing all 4 is advisable its not completely necessary.
A check of the fault codes will indicate a misfire common to one cylinder (or not) , allowing single replacement (or identification its another issue..)

common procedure is to check the codes and swap the packs between that problem cylinder and another and recheck after a drive , if its a coil pack the misfire code will 'jump' with the associated pack swap.

I found another thread saying exactly that. I asked the garage to replace all 4 as I don't want any other issues at a later date.
As for fault codes, I didn't like to tell him his job, to be fair

No, has to stay there overnight as the Coilpacks and plugs had to be ordered. Its not a Main Dealer.
He advised me not to drive the car to prevent damage to the the cat. Should pick her up tomorrow night.

the early cars and early remaps did have a problem with the OEM spark plugs not being up to scratch for coping with the increased fuel/boost mix

but i've not heard many problems about them since then.

I dont see the benefit changing of all 4 really. Expensive for no benefit.. i'll buy your old ones off you, three are proably fine :)
