How to use vcds to do check logs etc

I have vcds and was wondering how to get data from the car by logging, is there a guide somewhere to do this? My main concern is to see if it is running lean or rich

The APR website had some useful info on what settings to use for logging based around checking mods which may help you... Assuming its still on there
